Real growth, for people and the places they work
Who We are...
Calcinatio Collective is a trauma-informed training, coaching, and wellness organization based in Birmingham, Alabama, working with organizations and individuals across the country and virtually. We help companies build healthier cultures, and we help people heal, grow, and lead with clarity.
Jasmine Balom is a psychology-trained educator, organizational trainer and consultant, author, entrepreneur, and creator of The Calcinatio COPPER Method™. As Founder and CEO of Calcinatio Collective, her work spans organizational development, mental health and wellness education, spirituality, personal transformation, leadership, and human behavior.
For more than 25 years, Jasmine has been pursuing one enduring question through many different disciplines: what helps people move beyond simply functioning and into lives where they can heal, grow, lead, connect, and thrive?
That pursuit began when she was 19, working in hospice and providing in-home care for individuals living with catastrophic injuries. Her path later expanded through personal training, therapeutic massage, health coaching, mental health, psychology, education, spirituality, leadership, and organizational development. She did not begin with a perfectly mapped career destination. Each chapter instead gave her another lens through which to understand people, their environments, and the forces that shape how they experience themselves and the world around them.
That curiosity eventually led Jasmine to earn two degrees in psychology and complete advanced doctoral study in General Psychology, progressing to the dissertation phase before taking a medical sabbatical after a catavehicular accident. Her academic training, combined with decades of direct experience across caregiving, wellness, mental health, education, personal development, and organizational settings, forms the foundation of the multidisciplinary approach she brings to her work today.
Jasmine’s work is rooted in the understanding that people do not exist in separate compartments. The person navigating pressure at work is also navigating a body, relationships, identity, beliefs, history, hopes, responsibilities, and a life outside the workplace. Because of that, she does not treat leadership, wellness, mental health, spirituality, relationships, and personal development as disconnected conversations.
Within organizations, Jasmine works with leaders and teams on leadership development, communication, emotional intelligence, psychological safety, conflict resolution, stress and workload management, workplace culture, executive coaching, organizational consulting, and professional development.
Within the wellness, mental health, and personal development spaces, her work explores self-awareness, emotional well-being, resilience, boundaries, embodiment, identity, relationships, stress, behavior, and the process of rebuilding or redefining oneself through seasons of change.
Her work in spirituality extends that inquiry into belief, manifestation, identity, embodiment, personal power, meaning, and the relationship between a person’s internal world and the life they are intentionally creating.
Across all of these spaces, Jasmine has a particular ability to take complex concepts about psychology, human behavior, wellness, leadership, and transformation and make them understandable, practical, and usable. Her work is not built around information for information’s sake. She is interested in what happens after insight: what someone does differently, understands differently, chooses differently, or finally gives themselves permission to become.
Jasmine is also the creator of The Calcinatio COPPER Method™, a six-part framework designed to help people respond more intentionally during moments of stress, overwhelm, uncertainty, and activation. Through Connect, Orient, Pinpoint, Proceed, Engage, and Replenish, the method creates a practical pathway from awareness to grounded action, support, reflection, and restoration.
As an author and multidisciplinary entrepreneur, Jasmine’s broader body of work explores identity, embodiment, relationships, wellness, spirituality, leadership, personal development, and transformation. While these pursuits may appear to occupy different worlds, they are expressions of the same inquiry she has followed for more than two decades: how people come to understand themselves more fully and create lives, relationships, workplaces, and environments in which they can genuinely thrive.
At the center of Jasmine’s work is a simple principle: insight becomes most powerful when it becomes usable. Whether she is facilitating a corporate training, teaching in a wellness or spiritual space, developing curriculum, writing, consulting, or creating a new framework, the goal remains the same: to help people understand themselves more deeply and leave with something they can actually carry into the way they live, work, lead, relate, and evolve.
Why Calcinatio..?
In alchemy, calcinatio is the first stage of transformation. It is the fire that burns away everything that isn’t essential, so what remains is what was true all along.
The name didn’t arrive all at once. I began thinking about renaming the business in 2021, and by 2023 I was serious about it. In 2024, I lived with the word, using it on projects, including an online magazine, just to see how it felt. By 2025, it was undeniable.
Letting go of a name I had carried for more than a decade took real work. That was its own calcinatio. But I believe a name is an affirmation. Every time it is spoken, it affirms what it stands for. And this one felt right in my body every time I said it out loud.
That is the work we do here. We don’t ask anyone to become someone new. We help people and organizations burn away what no longer fits, so who they already are can finally lead. ~~ Jasmine
How We Work
Everything we do is trauma-informed and whole-person. We pay attention to the nervous system, the body, and the story behind the behavior, not just the behavior itself. Our work is guided by the Calcinatio COPPER Method™, a six-step way to move from feeling overwhelmed to taking intentional action: Connect, Orient, Pinpoint, Proceed, Engage, and Replenish.
